Kane Raukura
Content specialist: Chemistry
Kane Raukura has been a classroom Chemistry teacher for over 22 years, both in NZ and the UK. He was the Faculty Head of Science for over 13 years at De La Salle College and led transformational change in the sciences at the school. The faculty was a finalist in the Prime Ministers Awards for Educational Excellence in 2018. He has held past roles as a Senior Dean, Gifted and Talented Co-ordinator and as the College’s Achievement Co-ordinator. Kane was also the Sir Paul Callaghan Eureka Teacher of the year in 2019 and a past National Excellence in Teaching Award (NEiTA) winner. 2021 sees Kane taking on a new role as the Assistant Principal for Mission at De La Salle College.
Kane is currently the Chemistry Content Specialist on STEM Online NZ and is keenly aware of the importance of STEM careers for our NZ students and the future of our country as a whole.
